Tempest win at HotS Global Summer Championship

Tempest defeated reigning world champions MVP Black to win the Summer Heroes Global Championship hosted by DreamHack in Sweden.

Some are calling this five game thriller the greatest Heroes of the Storm series ever. It featured two incredibly evenly matched teams in some of the most exciting games competitive Heroes has ever seen.

Similar to the Spring Global Championship, the event was dominated by Chinese and Korean teams, with sides from both countries, including Chinese champions eStar Gaming, making the top four. For the first time in Global Championships a Western side, mYinsanity, made it out of the second group stage. They defeated a fellow European side Team Dignitas.

Tempest already made the news this year with their first upset victory over MVP Black during the Korean Super League 2016, where they were able to break MVP's 34-game winning streak. Their victory at the Summer Championship is a scenario that we often see a whenever a top team loses the flame of competition and struggles to perform at their best. Tempest was a hungry team that had everything to win and nothing to lose.

With a 3-2 win over the Spring Global Champions MVP Black, Tempest took home the $150,000 first prize.
